This Dog Heals Better Than Most Of My Marvel Rivals Teammates

A Twitch streamer has taught her dog how to press a button to heal her teammates in Marvel Rivals, and now I’m wondering if this is something we can teach human players.

Streamer poopernoodle and her dog, a long-haired dachshund named Pea, recently went viral after the UK-based content creator uploaded a clip from one of her latest streams. Pea features heavily in poopernoodle’s content, a near-constant livestream presence in a doggy bed in the background (or wearing a lobster costume), but this new Pea era is a special one. Poopernoodle revealed she had rigged a button attached to her PC that Pea could press with her paw.

“Pea, can you press the button?” poopernoodle asks, a treat held aloft. Pea obliges, and a star is born. Every time Pea is asked to press the button, she does so and gets a delicious reward for it. The fact that she does all of this while half tucked under a heart-patterned blanket makes this even more precious.

They jump into an actual game, and Pea occasionally presses the button without being prompted, which is clearly the dachshund showing some healer initiative. Poopernoodle gave Pea a treat nearly every time she performed the button press, which could make high-level gameplay a bit difficult, but I will lose every competitive game if it means Pea is on my squad.

“This is such a special moment,” Poopernoodle says. The game ends, and she announces they’ve done 892 healing. Now, that isn’t great, but I’m going to give Pea the benefit of the doubt and some credit: she’s at least healing when asked, which is already leaps and bounds beyond your average Rivals healer. Maybe if we offered people treats for helping out their team, I wouldn’t have rage-quit Marvel Rivals months ago after the pressures of competitive play ruined my entire experience!
