The Pokémon Company seems likely to reveal the upcoming Generation On December 24, a series of new leaks about the games, reportedly titled Pokemon Wind And Golfbegan to spread online. Since then, we’ve received several waves (sorry) of information the enormous Teraleak in October, but now we know a little more about the game’s map, its combat gimmick, and even have our first look at the new region’s professor.

The latest information was posted early today on X by self-described Pokémon Detective Moot Monthly. All of these new images, animations, and artwork are reportedly from this existing leak, so it’s entirely possible that they’re not indicative of the final games that will eventually arrive on Switch 2. But they do give us some interesting insight into what Game Freak has been working on for the next main story.

First off, we have a new look at the beta versions of the male and female protagonists, and their previously reported Rotom scooter they ride around on. Pokémon Legends: ZA really stood out for its fashion, so hopefully we can customize the fits of our characters Wind And Golf.

Next up, we have some early renders of the game’s professor and the Pokémon Center. Apparently, the professor will drive around in a car and appear in multiple locations throughout the game’s archipelago environment. At this point, all we know is that he appears to be an older man with thick eyebrows and a beard.

Speaking of the archipelago, we also have a new illustration of the Gen X region. The beta map shows various islands for the player to explore. Early reports say they will be procedurally generated, so it’s unclear if the map is some sort of assumed “standard” shape for these islands or if the terrain is what changes for each player, rather than the shape of the landmass.

The final and perhaps most interesting detail of the latest leak is a first look at this generation’s combat gimmick codenamed ‘Majin’. This will reportedly be a factor in something called ‘weather movements’, but we still don’t know what these will entail. What we can see now is that this phenomenon will apparently distort a Pokémon’s physical form and then create a cloud of sorts to obscure it. Looking at what this shit does to Pikachu in the leaked animation, I don’t immediately agree. Anyway, these are leaked images of a hack that is in development. We’ll see how it actually changes the combat when the games are eventually revealed.

These may all just be early concepts that Game Freak has since scrapped and the actual Gen For now, Pokémon Legends: ZA‘S Mega dimension DLC keeps me busy, so I’m not hungry for anything new right now.
